Manchester United win 7-6 on penalties
Manchester United have reached their second Wembley Cup Final of the season with a penalty win over Brighton after a hundred and twenty minutes of goal-less, scrappy football failed to divide the sides.
After twelve successive penalties were scored, Solly March stepped up to take the unlucky thirteenth and skied it high over De Gea’s crossbar, leaving Lindelof only needing to convert his spot kick to win the tie. The Swede, who was superb in the centre of defence alongside Shaw, smashed his kick high and into the right corner of the net, giving the Brighton keeper no chance. And that was it. United are through to the final!
The Cup Final will be on June 6th, and the first time the two Manchester sides have faced each other in a final.
