The team to beat Sevilla (Team News, Prediction, Press Conference)

April 20, 2023

Team News:

Martinez and Varane are out, and Fernandes is suspended. Rashford and Sabitzer are doubts but trained in the last training session, so have a chance. McTominay seems to be out too, but at least it’s in an area with plenty of cover. Martial trained and is available but hasn’t completed ninety minutes since his return. Shaw is an uncertainty. Malacia seems to have fallen out of favour, so is doubtful.

Team Prediction:

Presuming Shaw is not available, and it’s a risk to start Rashford, the big question is does Fred start? With Sabitzer a doubt and Casemiro and Eriksen as certainties, tonight could be the perfect time to unleash the chaos of Fred in a role higher up the pitch.

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka Maguire Lindelof Dalot

Casemiro Eriksen

Fred

Antony Martial Sancho

Same back four as the weekend. Rashford can come on for Sancho or Martial. Fred can disrupt both sides further up the pitch.

Score Prediction: 1-2

United were the better team in the first leg, and there’s no reason to think they won’t be in the second. The madness of the two late conceded goals needs to be avoided. A clean sheet with one Maguire calamity is the prediction.

Press Conference : Ten Hag and Eriksen
