Team Prediction
With Casemiro out for this game and the next three in the Premiership, Ten Hag faces a selection dilemma in midfield. McTominay is a doubt, and Sabitzer has only been available intermittently since his arrival. Antony looks likely to be missing from the attack too. Fortunately, there are no fresh injury concerns in defence, with Varane presumably rested against Betis with the Fulham game in mind. We’d like to see Rashford through the middle but expect Weghorst to lead the attack as usual.
Expect something like this:
De Gea
Wan-Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
Fred Sabitzer
Fernandes
Pellistri Weghorst Rashford
Wan-Bissaka must start over Dalot because he is able to occupy space in the midfield far better and, with Fred and Sabitzer in midfield, will have to do a lot of defending. Things may get messy, and Fernandes will have to be a bit more disciplined in helping the midfield pair out too or we risk being overrun.
If Ten Hag’s signing, Antony, isn’t fit then Pellistri or Sancho will get the wide right spot. It’s not a position Sancho enjoys, so Pellistri is the better fit. However, It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Englishman start
Score Prediction: 2-1
Fulham are currently a top-ten side in the Premiership and are a different proposition from previous sides. United will have to weather a first-half storm without gifting them chances then assert themselves as the game goes on. If they can do that, then they should be comfortable winners. If they give up early chances, it could be a long and frustrating day.
