Some tactical changes and surprises by Erik ten Hag with his starting lineup.

Manchester United
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Shaw, Malacia, Casemiro, Eriksen, Fed, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford.
Subs: Heaton, Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Mainoo, McTominay, Antony, Elanga, Garnacho.

Manchester City
Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo, Rodrigo, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Haaland.
Subs: Ortega Moreno, Phillips, Gundogan, Grealish, Laporte, Alvarez, Gomez, Palmer, Lewis.

First Half:
’10 Cagey first ten but United have had two decent attacks.

’11 Fernandes has the first big chance. Eriksen slides the ball diagonally for him but the angle is tight and he drags his shot wide of the far post.

’35 Fernandes’ pass finds Marcus Rashford on the left in a lot of space. Ederson sprints out of his box. Rashford rounds him, takes a touch but Walker is able to block it on the line.

’37 Rashford accelerates past Rodri and closes down on goal. Ederson comes off his line again but a slightly heavy touch from Rashford allows him to close down and make the save.

’41 Rashford injures himself chasing down a ball on the left. He immediately pulls up indicating it’s a hip injury. He’s at least walking. He comes back on to at least see the half out.

City dominated the possession but United have had by far the better chances. City have created some half-chances but, on a good day, United could’ve scored a couple. Fred is doing a great job shutting down De Bruyne. Martial doesn’t seem fully fit and now with Rashford seemingly injured Ten Hag has some decisions to make.

Second-half:
Martial off at halftime for Antony. Rashford through the middle. Looks like the injury wasn’t too serious.

All City this half. United penned in completely.

The inevitable has happened.
’60 GOAL. City’s dominance this half pays off as De Bruyne chips to the far post for Grealish to head home.

’72 Garnacho on for Eriksen.

Possible goal?!

’78 GOAL! Casemiro plays the ball through to Rashford who is offside but Rashford doesn’t touch it and allows it to run through for Fernandes who hits it first time with his right low past the keeper.

’82 GOAL! Through ball for who Garnacho slides it across the box on his second try and Rashford is there to put it home!
