Harry Maguire has slipped down the pecking order at Manchester United, but after a good World Cup has more options than ever. But What should he do? And Where could he go? And When?

Maguire is a good player. Despite his limited pace, he’s still an excellent defender. His passing ability is impressive, and there are few backs-against-the-wall defenders better than him.
However, he’s the third or fourth choice in a two-man defence now. In a team with a high defensive line, like Manchester United, quick forwards target his lack of speed.
As Rio Ferdinand said on BT Sport, “If I’m Harry Maguire, I’m looking for a new club right now. He’s faultless for England, but at United, it hasn’t worked out for him.”
Harry leaves
If Maguire does leave where could he go?
Newcastle
Newcastle have the money and are building a “project.” Maguire would represent a premium quality signing.
Spurs
Tottenham’s defence is a huge weakness. Especially for such a defensive side.
They cannot afford him, but they have something of value to swap in Kane.
West Ham
Again, they can’t afford him but have players that United are interested in, like Rice and even Antonio.
Roma
Mourinho is an admirer but failed to sign the defender for United and has even less money to spend now. He’d suggest a loan, but a loan is unlikely.
Leicester City
They have little to offer outside of Tieleman. A desperation signing and fond memories are the most they could offer.
What should Harry do?
Many other clubs are interested, but only some have the spending power required to get the deal done, especially in January. For this reason, Harry would be better off staying and fighting for his place but having his agent look for potential Summer moves.
