According to Manchester United’s Offical site, this is the available squad for tonight’s 8pm kick-off:
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Dubravka, Bishop, Heaton, Vitek
Defenders: Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Williams, Malacia, Bennett
Midfielders: Van de Beek, Iqbal, Eriksen, McTominay, Fred, Casemiro, Fernandes
Forwards: Martial, Elanga, Pellistri, Rashford, Garnacho, Antony
Although many of the World Cup participants are available, it’s probably too soon to put them straight into the starting lineup. Also, this game was always going to be one where more of the squad was showcased.
We’ve gone for De Gea with a backline of Malacia, Maguire, Lindelof and Wan-Bisaka with Maguire making it because there are no other experienced options.
Midfield of Mctominay, Eriksen and the erstwhile Van de Beek although Iqbal probably deserves the place more.
Upfront is an easier choice with Garnacho and Elanga either side of Martial. Given Antony’s low minutes at the world cup though, maybe he could be considered.
